Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
do you mean what's the difference between tout and tous? the former is masculine singular, the latter is masculine plural
But why not tous les mondes?
le monde is like a collective noun for people here. so tout le monde -> everybody
but there's not collective noun for days, so tous les jours -> all of the days
ultimately in both cases, tous agrees with what it's describing
For "everyone"?
that just doesn't mean everyone
why don't we say "all people" instead of "everyone"
tous les mondes means all the worlds
tout le monde means everyone
it's a set phrase but it's no more a set phrase than everyone itself as a word
That makes sense. So it's a singular word for a collective group. So treat it like it's singular.
yup
