Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
lawless french has a great article on the subject: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/cest-vs-il-est/
feel free to ask any followup question if you're still confused afterwards
so c’est is basically for nouns or describing things in general while il est is for adjectives and describing specific things?
when describing people: c'est for nouns, il/elle est for adjectives
when describing things: il/elle est if you're referring to a specific noun used in the dialog, c'est for the general context
ohhh ok
