are you familiar with the distinction between là and ci?

ceci is to cela what ci is to là, same goes for voici and voilà

Roughly:
Voici = Vois (i)ci (look over here/at this).
Voilà = vois là (look over there/at that)

Edit:
Ceci = Ce (i)ci
Cela = Ce là

technically yes, but in the common language, those are absolutely interchangeable, usually voilà is the preferred form.

That being said, wasn't the question between ceci and voici ?

I liked Fquel's answer and wanted to expand on 'voici/voilà', but forgot to do the same for 'ceci' and 'cela'.
