Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
also soudain vs foudroyant
Depends the sentence
In both cases, the two possibilites are synonym, it will depends on the context to know which one is better to put and furthermore to know what kind of usage, is it poetic or common language ?
enfouir is hidden inside of something, enterrer is the general term when you dig in and put something in there, it could be hidden, or it could not.
Say J'ai enfouis mes lunettes sous terre would mean "I put my glasses somewhere I'm certain it's not coming back"
But J'ai enterré mes lunettes sous terre would just mean that you put your glasses underground.
Moreover, those are roughly synonyms, but enfouir appears to have a more negatively connoted meaning, whereas enterrer does not and is to be understood as the simple act of putting something underground, indistinctively of the consequences it could have.
ohhh okay i understand better
honestly i thought it meant this
so i was basically right with enfoui being to put some in some while enterrer can just literally mean to bury underground
