in this case you could replace ainsi with "comme ça" and the meaning wouldn't change -> if that's how (what) it's called. ainsi and que are separate

but in other cases "ainsi que" can be taken as a whole and translated as "as well as" : j'aime les citrons ainsi que les oranges
