Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

im guessing you are learning pronunciation?

#

i'll do the b) for you, the odd one is not le
it's pierre, all words have the sound /ø/ except this one, which is pronounced /pjɛʁ/

That is a terrible exercise god

in what world is « le » pronounced /ø/

shy scroll
#

I guess you can hear them on Google to train your hear but...

#

but jeûne ends in /n/ and pierre ends in /ʁ/, unless you're from the south…

#

unless it's specifically about having /ø/or /œ/

#

anywhere, I mean

even so, « vœu, lieu, heureux » don’t have the schwa

pure tendon

because jeûne could be either

#

yeah, le has /ə/, but I suppose some speakers might put /ø/ there…

#

idk

#

it's a weiiiiiiird ass exercise

#

and frankly I don't see how some sort of puzzle like this is helping anyone improve their pronunciation

a) that's Raison because it is the only one that pronounce like Z
b)Pierre, just like Pharma said
c)Album, the pronunciation sounds like ON
d)Latex, the only one that has a X pronounced
e)Fille, the only one that has an E mute
f)Nez i guess, it sounds like é instead of è
g)Frein, like AIN in place of AN or EN

And in fact , i am neither a linguist ,nor a native French speaker, so these are my personal opinions.
By the way, i am not really good at English. If you guys find any mistakes, correct me please.
