Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

"approche-le à moi" is not correct, "approche-le-moi" im still not sure about

#

The correct translation would be "Approche-le de moi" or alternatively you can say "Rapproche-le de moi"

#

Both of these sentences are correct and convey the intended meaning of moving something closer to oneself

@hoary walrus il faut répondre dans le fil;)

approche-le-moi is fine

Hey could you please explain how this works grammatically? For me it feels awkward because it doesn’t follow the idiomatic pattern of expressing movement or closeness. It leaves out the necessary prepositional relationship that clarifies the action's spatial context 😅. I add the preposition "de" because it helps convey the idea of moving something closer to or from a reference point

Iirc verbs like "Approcher" usually require a prepositional phrase to indicate proximity. For example you could say "approche ça vers moi" but "approche ça moi" looks a bit funky to me, does that example work without "vers"?

#

you could also say approche-le vers moi

#

approche-moi ça (sounds familiar)

#

approche-le-moi works because moi is a COI here

#

Tu l'approches de moi

#

which... technically should be "Tu me l'approches"
