Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Hey there! Are you familiar with verb conjugations?
C’est la conjugaison de l’indicatif présent, "Peut" s'utilise avec "il/elle/on" (Il peut venir).
"Pouvez" s'utilise avec "vous" (Vous pouvez m'aider)
In other words:
- Peut: He/she/it can
- Pouvez: You (plural/formal) can
You cannot.
As shown in Courtney's screenshot, 'tu' will always use 'peux' and 'vous' will always use 'pouvez'.
donc pouvez es strictly seulement "vous pouvez"?
Take English:
- I eat
- She eats
It can never be 'I eats' or 'She eat'.
ahhh dacc
Correct!
ahh j'ai compris!
how about trying to express "about" in "how about" and "what about"? 😅
A simple way would just be using 'Et'.
How about/what about <X>?
Et <X> ?
Context will decide, really.
ah got it
There are different ways to translate this depending on context but generally I would say "et si" for "how about" and "et" for what about
How about we go? = Et si on y allait?
What about this? = Et ça?
c'est trop facile comparé la tranduction de google translate
Et si je vous disais que je suis italienne ? = what about if I told you I’m Italian?
