Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
"il est à souhaiter que" is a bit old fashioned, but 100% correct.
"il est souhaitable que" would be a more common alternative.
🙏 merci
would the ne expletif be used at all here?
What's the context? "It is hoped that..." strikes me as a bit odd too
No, this wouldn't be a case where you can use the ne explétif
il est souhaitable que tu le fusse bien
would this also be a correct translation?
"i have assigned you x task, it is hoped that you do it properly"
"Il est souhaitable que tu le fasses bien" would work, yes.
oh whoops wrong conjugation
