Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
oh so it means shes already sitting on the bench
while assied would mean that shes going to sit on the bench
You can't have two conjugated verbs following each other, "est" is already conjugated
Mamie est assise. → Grandma is seated.
Mamie s'assied. → Grandma sits/is sitting.
Mamie assied le bébé. → Grandma sits down the baby.
Hmmmm no
“Mamie assied” needs an object
Does she sit the dog down? The baby?
The verb asseoir for “to sit down” is always pronominal
“Mamie s’assied”
wait yeah
you're right
i forgot the reflexive pronoun lol
there, all better now
no, it's because the past participle is essentially an adjective here
and adjectives agree with the noun they modify
il est assis
elle est assise
nous sommes assis (could be assises for a group of women)
elles sont assises
ohhh omg im so stupid
