it's "eusse", and the acccent is added because of the inversion with "je". That's what happens with first person forms that end in "e".
Je mange ==> Mangé-je ?
In practice this is very rare since nobody actually uses inversion with "je".
the 1990 spelling reform also made è an option instead of é
