Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
fils, fille, and enfant can refer to someone of any age in the right context
just like in english
not sure how to even say teenager in france
Teenager = adolescent.e (depending on the gender. You can say "ado", it's less formal though)
so adding to this
La fille de Janis
Le fils de Janis
L'enfant de Janis
L'ado de Janis
L'asolescent(e) de Janus
I was complaining about a rebellious teenager last night and I confused someone in main chat so they told me the word for teenager
Exactly! But thom if you want it to be like refering to any age I think "fils" (son) and "fille" (daughter) are the best to use because "enfant" can be quite confusing I think
yes because enfant is more so 'infant' but it works for gender inclusive language (les enfants de Janis), also more formal. and that fille/fils is best to use if you know and its less formal.
like a form would probs say vos enfants
