Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Like i guess svp is more like with general requests on like signs and stuff
Like a little bit more dry
Oh fr
Well this is an acronym
Not all acronyms are informal i assume
Or does french not do that
it's informal so ig writing a mail to colleagues wont include svp
Colleagues is probably fine depending on the colleague
Right but this is a texting acronym
Damn
So in this case it isn’t as formal as s’il vous plaît
But outside of texting I would always use the entire thing
I see SVP relatively often in emails, capitalized. Lowercase is super informal, SVP is about the equivalent as ASAP in terms of formality
Mostly used for "quick" emails
You can never go wrong with writing it out in full though, so it's a safer choice
Huh interesting
the director of my school is known for writing "svp" all the time
people I've talked to about it find it a bit rude, but no one can say anything because she signs the checks
