Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Mon and ma are possessive adjectives, equivalent to "my"
Mon is used for masculine nouns or feminine nouns starting with a vowel or mute h (mon chien, mon araignée, mon horloge)
Ma is used for feminine nouns starting with a consonant (ma pomme)
Ok thank you! I hope you didn't have to repeat this answer too many times!
We do, but that's alright; it's the point of the server!
You should also know that there's "mes" as well, for plural nouns (mes enfants)
I was trying to remember that one but couldn't remember.
Also can I use mes for feminine and masculine too?
Or is plural something else
Yes!
Mon -> masc singular (or fem. + vowel/mute h)
Ma -> fem singular
Mes -> masc or fem plural
Ok thank you
Worth noting that it's not the starting letter of the noun that matters per se - just the letter that follows the adjective
i.e.
M__on a__mie
but
M__a m__eilleure amie
Ok
