Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Time Tenses
I already know how to use 2 fluently. Passe Compose, and the Futur proch
what are te other ones and how can I conjugate them?
also please include the irregular verbs
I know Dr. Mrs. Vandertramp for Passe Compose
Devenir, Revenir, Monter, Rentrer, Sortir, Venir, Arriver, Naitre, Descendre, Entrer, Retourner, Tomber, Rester, Aller
however also don't know how to conjugate those
in ETRE instead of AVOIR
Hmm...this is something you should rather consult google for maybe. There are whole progressions to learn various tenses and constructions...i'm thinking just based on dictionary entries that I've seen, there must be 50+ paradigms that the various verbs fall into, although I don't really know for certain. and of course, it's not really that complicated, just little changes in orthography or how the root is formed or whatever...
A good start for "all time tenses and conjugations" is to just take a paradigm table you find online for a verb and consider all the headings...for example, lawless french says:
present
imperfect
future
conditional
subjunctive
imperfect subjunctive
passé composé (')
past perfect (')
future perfect (')
past conditional (')
past subjunctive (')
pluperfect subjunctive (')
passé simple
past anterior (')
imperative
past imperative (')
present participle
past participle
perfect participle (')
past infinitive (')
many of those are composed tenses where you only need to know the conjugations of the helper verb and the participle, just like what you need to know for passé composé...I've marked them with a '.
But you can see that list leaves out futur proche...some passive constructions...a "recent past" construction like "venir de..."
see here 🙂 these don't include all of the conjugations technically because there a few we don't use in modern french anymore so I didn't put them in. but these are all the ones we use
i dont understand your question?

its a lot to take in for french tenses
you got this tho asomi
@plush ginkgo i agree with flutters, baby steps. its best to ask targeted questions and get precise answers than open questions and get huge answers that overwhelm you 🙂
Thanks! what does the "en" stand for tho?
