Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
To want = vouloir
I would want = je voudrais
"I would like" is another idiomatic translation for this, but "je voudrais" is still the phrase you're looking for
Like, in a contexts where you're for example talking to someone who's giving you a service (bartender, waitress), "je voudrais un café" has the connotation of "i would like a cup of coffee"
Btw, it's in the conditionnel (or futur du passé) bc of the 'would'
So "je voudrais" means both "i would want" and "i would like", it just depends on the situation
Ah ok merci
