Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
oh i know this one !!! ||a like.. infantry soldier|| right !!!!! (im honestly not too sure of the english tbh)
correct answer > infantry soldier (from ww1)
thanks basalt for playing the word game.
you were right. Chapeau bas!
I love this idea of a game!
maybe I should first learn all the more common words though, before studying these strange ones..
well, if you're learning "all" the common words, where would the line be drawn ? i think its fun to splice them :') might help you make other connections too !
if you do this again id love to take part but feel free to disregard my answer next time ! wouldnt be fair as ive already played and won a round, i would feel like im poaching someone else's opportunity :')
okay, no worries, this is all in good fun. They are words I have had to look it up myself and words that two of, what I consider the best language forums on the .w.w today, wordreference and discord.fr &, do not carry. I have said this is just for fun and at the same time, it will increase your vocabulary power and knowledge of possibly obscure terms, or terms not much used in everyday life. I will throw it out there, for he who wants to play. I will always provide the answer and I encourage others to do the same so I get the chance to test my power too. This is intended for learners intermediate and advance, but it is open to everyone. There are many words in the English language that are unknown to me
