Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Je sais que vous allez tirer votre propre conclusion.
word reference only differs them in the same way
so when you say the screen is bright as in its blinding you, you should use brillant?
in that case it shouldn't make sense to say la chambre brillante unless the room itself is producing light?
but if light is coming in from a window you would use lumineuse?
Yeah, might be able to use it as a metaphor? But generally, briller = to emit light, brillant = emitting light
Alright
so in the case of a bright screen, you would say l'écran est brillant rather than lumineux?
because the screen is emitting the light
if true, what would l'écran est lumineux mean?
I think I'd say "l'écran brille" generally
Lumineux, to me, sounds like there's light hitting it/reflecting off of it, perhaps?
La luminosité est haute/élevée is the most natural way
