Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I'm confused on conjugating.

What tense?

present

The issue here is that the four verbs I can see are irregular

#

so I understand why you’d be confused

#

You can go on Google and type ‘[verb] conjugation’ to get the list but unfortunately you just have to memorise

i'm guessing for regular verbs it would be

je- e
tu- e
il/elle- it
nous- ons
vous- ez
ils/elles/les- ent

It depends on the conjugation group

Well you still have to choose which verb goes where

#

but conjugating them according to the subject given, yes

#

There are three conjugation groups in French: -er, -ir, and -re.
(1) -er: This is the most common group and the most regular though there are still exceptions. The conjugation pattern for the indicative present is: « -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent ». Example would be « parler »: « je parle, tu parles, il parle, nous parlons, vous parlez, ils parlent ». An irregular verb would be in your example, « aller » which has « je vais, tu vas, il va, nous allons, vous allez, ils vont ».
(2) -ir: I’d say that this verb is regular but has a lot of irregulars. The pattern is: « -is, -is, -it, -issons, -issez, -issent ». Example would be « finir »: « je finis, tu finis, il finit, nous finissons, vous finissez, ils finissent ». An irregular would be « partir »: « je pars, tu pars, il part, nous partons, vous partez, ils partent ».
(3) -re: Probably the most irregular of them and has several patterns. You can learn these out yourself, there’s too much to put

Sure. Keep in mind the subject pronouns when you’re conjugating because each pronoun has its own form and they can’t be mixed. For example, « parler » has the conjugation forms « parle » for « il » and « parlons » for « nous ». You have to keep each form to its pronoun so « il parle, nous parlons », you can never mix like « il parlons, nous parle »

Good luck conjugating
