it might be a bit disappointing, but you can find quite a few real results for "un groove de basse" on google which seem to correspond to the example you've given - "comment créer un groove de basse" "apprenons à jouer un groove de basse simple dans le style funk" - so it's probably a good start ! and modern music is so heavily influenced by US culture that it makes sense that the vocabulary would be closely related/borrowed
