Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Hey ! So to summarize :
-
You have some good fundamentals already, the most recurrent pronunciation mistakes I noticed were with all words ending by the letter "n" (prononciation, Napoléon, citation, rien, un...)
So I can advise you to listen and practice on these words :) -
Be careful with the word "tout". It's invariable, however it agrees in gender and number before a feminine word that begins with a consonant or an aspirated h.
Example in your text :
"Toutes les batailles, toutes les histoires"
But, it would be "Tout" in the quote : "Il est parti de rien, il a tout conquis".
I guess sometimes it's just about pronunciation, but both are different and are pronounced differently, so try to keep that in mind :) -
You can also look for what we call "liaisons". There is a perfect lesson for this in #leçon-du-jour (last message)
Two examples of liaisons required in your text :
"Pourquoi Napoléon est-il mon personnage historique préféré ?"
"Ne vous inquiétez pas."
My last advice for next time, if you want us to judge only pronouncing, it may be better to read an existing text, to avoid any confusions between pronunciation mistakes and sentences structures.
Otherwise, most of it was understandable so you're on the right track!
Hope that is useful, keep going !
it definitely was useful, thanks very much. I might do another one of these soon while paying more attention to the things you said here 👍
