when you say il les dit - he said them
il dit les secrets
il LES dit
he said the secrets
he said them
but leur is with people
he said to The Beatles
he said to them
il dit aux beatles (the band)
il LEUR dit

You did a really good job - the only thing you left out was about certain verbs that require disjunctive pronouns
For instance you can't say "il leur pense"
You must say, "il pense à eux"
But it's a bit of a more advanced topic!
