Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
« Jouer au jeu vidéo sur ma PlayStation » is more correct
Or " aux jeux vidéos" if it’s in the plural
En = in
Sur = on
^^
Thanks
And you say « ma » because "PlayStation" is feminine.
It's because the word console, a feminine one, is implied. Plus, the word station is also feminine.
Une Colecovision, une Amstrad, une Amiga and so on until une Switch, une Xbox.
Does this sentence really makes sense ? I dont think there is a subject in this sentence.
He might want to say " joue au jeu vidéo sur ma PlayStation" (impératif)
Or
If we want the groupe infinitif to be the subject, can we say jouer au jeu vidéo est mon passe-temps préféré.
I hate french
Why dude
Yep, imperative doesn't require a subject. Your sentence is fine like that.
And yep, the subject can be an infinitive clause like you said. It'd be better to have jeu vidéo in plural if you play more than one item.
I meant that is the OP's sentence is wrongly constructed
And the response too
Ah.
It's just one construction out of context.
And it could be either of what you said.
I thought the OP's sentence is wrong and tried to give another options
But you say that it is not right ?
"Playing vidéo games on my PlayStation" doesnt seem to be wrong in english but im not sure for the french
Your suggestions are right. They depend on what you mean.
It sounds like an infinitive clause (or some other structure). Imperative would just have the verb as play, not playing.
Yeah but i dont know whether i didnt express it well but the thing that i wanted to know was the sentence « Jouer au jeu vidéo sur ma PlayStation » is correctly constructed or not
It is correct.
