Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
"les" oranges sont des fruits is correct
if you know the difference between le/la and un/une, you know the difference bewtween les and des 🤷‍♂️
les = the(plural)
des = a/an(plural) so similar to saying 'some'
like 'je veux des pommes" = I want apples/I want some apples
but "je veux les pommes" = I want THE apples
Well, "les" also has the extra meaning of translating to no article at all in English. Because as well as meaning "the", it can also refer to all members of a group in general or to the idea of them.
J'aime les pommes = I like apples
Les pommes, c'est bon pour la santé = apples are healthy
That's the meaning of "les" being used in "Les oranges sont des fruits"
il faut pas dire "Les oranges sont des fruits"?
Je ne comprends pas ta question
Isn’t it supposed to be “The oranges are fruits”
I believe the English sentence they're trying to translate is just "Oranges are fruits"
