Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Indeed they are, great job!
rein nest facile feels like a double negative to me lol
It's a simple negation though. Standard negation uses two negative adverbs in French (ne + something else).
the ne is only used to mark that the phrase is negative, it is not in and of itself a negative
so only the rien is negative
you'll get used to it 🙂
In a way it's not any more of a double negative than "Vous ne mangez rien"
As reiwa pointed out, the "ne" is added when the sentence is negated but it doesn't mean anything by itself, and that is also why it's often omitted altogether in speech
@rare sable
for example, you could not say « **n'**est facile ». this has no sense, as ne is not a negative -- you have to say « rien **n'**est facile », or if you are having a casual conversation, just « rien est facile » (the ne can be dropped).
like I said, you'll get used to it as time goes on 🙂
They're all good!!! Tout est gratuit Mdr! si seulement c'était le cas. Bon travail !!! 🔥
