Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Vas-y = go on
Raconte = tell (a story or whatever)

Thanks!

Should they be seperated by a comma?

#

Or is no comma fine?

Technically it's two independent sentences that should be separated. But it's casual language, we probably wouldn't have a break between the two when speaking, and "vas-y" is almost an interjection at this point. No comma is fine.

If you were to write it for school or something formal for some reason, add a comma. Otherwise no need

Also, note that "vas-y" is an alternative form of the imperative "va" that only exists with y. Because you need the "z" sound.
Compare :

  • Tu vas au supermarché.
  • Va au supermarché.
  • Tu y vas.
  • Vas-y.

And technically it's "va" before an infinitive : "Va y acheter des pâtes." but "vas-y acheter des pâtes" is used too.
