Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Maybe Β« Je n'ai pas assez envie de lui demander comment il va Β» ? I'm assuming that 'care' here means 'inclined/want' like, 'I wasn't inclined enough to askβ¦'
more like "I didn't give enough of a shit to ask him how he was doing"
Maybe, Β« Je ne me suis pas assez prΓ©occupΓ© de lui demander comment il allait (I didn't worry enough / I wasn't concerned enough to ask him how he was going) Β» ?
using Β« se moquer Β» like Β« Je me suis assez moquΓ© de lui demander β¦ (I didn't care enough to ask himβ¦) Β» might be too literal
hmm...
anything else that's vulgar?
i'm realizing right now that this would have been better suited in #salle-de-classe-vulgaire π
Β« se foutre de Β» maybe
it also happens with Β« se foutre / se moquer Β» which is why I didn't put the negative there
might work, gives you something like ||I didn't give enough of a fuck to ask him how he was doing||
more naturally, you can have;
je m'en fichais (assez) pour lui demander comment il allait.
je m'en foutais (complet) pour lui demander comment il allait.
for me s'en ficher is not polite, but it is not vulgaire as such, it just means you weren't interesting in asking how he was doing.
on the other hand, s'en foutre is very vulgar. it implies you literally could not give a fuck one way or the other to ask him how he is doing.
s'en ficher -- ne pas attacher dβimportance
s'en foutre -- se dΓ©sintΓ©resser ou Γͺtre totalement indiffΓ©rent de quelqu'un ou de quelque chose
oh alr
