Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
yes
that is very weird
but it doesn't matter
what do you think the correct answer is?
c and d
not quite
i'll know once i check the answers i was js confused on why there were 2 of the same answers or maybe i didnt see smt
ok wait so "a condition que" so the verb should be in conditional?
nope
« à condition que... » is a subordinating conjunction that requires...
le subjonctif
so now what do you think the correct answer is?
b
to form the subjunctive, you do three things:
- conjugate the verb in the ils/elles form in the present tense
- remove the –ent ending from the verb
- add the appropriate subjunctive ending that corresponds to the grammatical person
you do know the endings for the subjunctive present tense, right?
- je → –e
- tu → –es
- il/elle → –e
- nous → –ions
- vous → –iez
- ils/elles → –ent
they are similar to those of the indicative present tense, except for nous and vous
i need to brush up on how i think i just forgot 😭 tyyyy
wanna try with a verb?
sure
conjugate « Il faut que je (finir) mes devoirs. » in the present subjunctive
remember the steps
ok so finissent minus ent u get finiss
and then + the ending for je whcih is e
so finisse?
what about « Je ne crois pas qu'il (vendre) du chocolat. » ?
yes
very weird
it's better to use « and »
"je ne crois pas qu'il vende du chocolat"
ty ur a good teacher 🙏
you're welcome, and thank you 👍
