Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
it's talking about how to correctly change the tenses of verbs in reported speech
those two sentences are just examples
Oh God now I feel dumb. So the first example shows how to change it from present + passé composée to passé composée and imparfait ?
yesss
🤦🏽♀️ thank you so much!
and the second shows how to change it from « présent + futur simple » to « passé composé + conditionnel »
no problem 👍
Both verbs are in simple present in the first sentence. The second verb changes into imperfect in indirect speech.
A reported speech in passé composé would be in pluperfect in the past.
Isnt this is all about the tense of the verbe introducteur
If verbe introducteur is in the présent, you dont have to change the tense of the verb in reported words
If the verbe introducteur is in the past tense then you have to change the time of the reported words tense
Présent becomes imparfait
Passe composé and passe simple becomes plus que parfait
Etc.
Yep, that was what I meant.
All of the tenses here are correct but it is pretty normal that you are confused
Stéphanie : " j'ai faim"
- Elle dit qu'elle a faim
If the dire is in the past then you change the tense
