Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Oh. I've comitted myself to learning French after having a lasting fascination with France as I gradually get to understand its culture and history. I'm an American, and while I hope this does not stir up too much unconstructive discourse: I feel like France embodies our founding values far more than America in the current day.

#

Since I know it to have a very defiant populace that will react strongly to any perceived autocracization or any other unwanted influence, especially from corporations.

#

I fear the worst for America in the coming decades, so I wish to learn French to potentially create job opportunties for myself there, should my fears be correct.

#

That's... quite complicated since i'm trying to make my Welsh girlfriend an American resident. Being her huspand would make it far, far easier to move to either country, but I won't settle for the UK either.

I have also graduated from school and have seen myself slipping into repetitive days of internet browsing, masturbation, ect that it has actually affected how "fast" time moves for me. I feel like half of my twenties have been swept away in an instant and I am now having a bit of a crisis, fearful of losing my youth before I had the chance to do any of the things that youth allows.

Where do I start? learning languages almost feels like dieting advice, or investment tips. There is such a wealth of misinformation that it's hard to really decide on something.
