Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

« un poil » is everywhere on your body, « un cheveu » is usually longer hair on top of your head

#

« des chevaux » are animals that we can ride and they run fast

"Les poils de mon bras " not " Les cheveux de mon bras" right?

Also, bras is both in singular and plural forms.

un cheveu -> a hair on the head
des cheveux -> hair on the head
un poil -> a hair on the body
des poils -> body hair

#

what's kinda interesting is that English differentiates animal hair from human hair -> fur vs. hair
French doesn't do this
so body hair, poils, is what you talk about for animals

#

French has fourrure and pelage tho

if you're ever just talking about a one off and it's not from a human's head, it's "un poil"
