Not at all. The expression is "en être là". It's the adverbial pronoun, not a preposition. "En là" is stupid, là is already a location, you don't need to add en before it.

i'm not sure about the other sentences though

I know you can say "what happened?" with "qu'est-ce qui s'est passé ?" but that's not really how did this happen
