Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
the best resource is talking to people in french and letting them tell you when you mess up
when you see a new concept, verb, etc look it up
i get that but how do i exactly learn the new stuff I wanna be a bit ahead just so its eaier to manage and stuff yk
So here's the resource I use for managing all of my stuff
You good with techie stuff?
Software and junk
Sweet, you'll figure it out pretty quick
so I use https://notion.so
A new tool that blends your everyday work apps into one. It's the all-in-one workspace for you and your team.
?
I put everything into a table
Oh
I prefer obsidan but sure I can give notion a try ig
Just find something you're comfortable making into database like structures
so it's easy to review your stuff
Thanks and is there a online resource to learn new grammar concepts?
most people use lawless french
oh
I thought u mean they dont give a shit about french grammar 🤣 when talkin casually
like if you google "lawless french <grammar concept here>" they'll have an article on it
thanks
np
I have been doing duolingo too is it good or meh?
lol
for instance it might want "J'aimerais + infinitive" for "I would like to" and sometimes it wants "Je voudrais + infinitive" and there's no telling which one it wants before it marks you wrong
I find it weird that they don't even tell you want a conjugation is....
Oh that's the worst part for sure
frfr
they will not tell you shit about how to do anything
btw
they say "this is the way it is and this is how you will do this"
there is no why involved
You won't hear "you're using a partitive article and that's why so and so"
You will hear "You're wrong lol moron try again good luck"
an infinitive is an unconjugated verb that comes after a conjugated verb
"J'aime travailler" = I like to work
I havent learnt a partivie article ig ur trying to say ppl are pretty casual in french speaking?
travailler is an infinitive
your did not conjugate tho
not an article
wait what
I thought an article is like le or la
then what about un/une
an infinitive comes after a verb if two or more verbs share a subject
so "J'aime travailler" is grammatical because aimer and travailler both take je as the subject
ohh ic
So if multiple verbs have the same subject, you only conjugate the first one and the rest are infinitives
and one more thing
Un/une is "a" and le/la/les/l' is "the"
in french idk how to say these, that, this, those. Teacher told me smth I dont understand is that we use ce, cette, si, ces
and we smth about using it with etre
wait nvm
I got the meaning
Do not worry about that yet is what I would say if you're just starting
get your verb conjugations and articles and stuff down
and then work on that
No I am learning it in school so I have to worry about that yk
ah
Have fun
hope u have a good one tho
You too
