mon amie
non
why mon, its because of the vowel in amie
whatever the gender, it is mon for words thats a vowell next
ma for other fem words
aah much thanks
the french are weird, and do (mostly) anything at (mostly) all costs to avoid vowels together (creating a glottal stop)
i like it
for example, despite histoire being feminine, it is moN HIstoire as its a vowel/silent letter
and the T in a-T-il
LMAOOO TRUUUU
glad i know this now
the mon histoire makes sense because of H tho no?
yes
rules are made to be broken
~ French Grammar
it's about the nature of the h tho
ouais
No but it makes sense because silent H and not silent H

this is a common misconception, but there's nothing in French (or about French people) that prevents vowels occurring next to one another
(the -t- inserted in inversion goes back to a historical feature of conjugation, as Phrama said h aspiré does not trigger ma→mon, you can have sentences like "je vais à Aix")
not only did i say (mostly) but also this was metaphorical
but yes you are correct
