Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Bonsoir is said when meeting each other in the evening. It's the evening version of "hello".

Bonne soirée is said when parting ways in the evening. It's the evening version of "goodbye".

"good evening" vs "have a good evening", essentially

Can I use them interchangeably?

marsh sphinx

they're used in entirely different contexts

#

you wouldn't exchange hello and goodbye

Thank you so much for the reply, @marsh sphinx and Kitty once again. Thank you for the help.

would you say "have a good evening" when meeting someone? I could maybe imagine "good evening" when leaving but nobody really does that
