A sonné implies it happened one time, so you can't have a habit built around it.
Rule 5 should be that imparfait is used for an action interrupted by another action in passé composé
For the sleeping question, you could see it either as the telephone "interrupting" the action of sleep (it wakes you up), or you could see it as describing your state while the telephone rings (you were sleeping, but you didn't necessarily wake up). Both would use imparfait "dormais"
If you use passé composé here, on the other hand, it is a sequence of events, so the telephone rings and THEN you sleep
Similar principle for question 5. Either you are describing what the weather was like when leaving (imparfait) or you're describing a sequence of events (passé composé - you left, THEN it started raining)

If you really want to translate a case where every time the phone rang, you went to sleep (which is what your sentence implies) it would be something like:
"À chaque fois que le téléphone sonnait, j'ai dormi"
Alternatively, you could use imparfait again to describe that you were already sleeping every time the telephone rang
