It just depends on what ‘pledge’ means because in some contexts it can be « promettre (to promise) » or « jurer (to swear/vow) » or « prêter allégeance (give allegiance) »
I can try my question there, sorry this was the first channel that can up when I joined. I am working on retranslating a phase I used in high school (the last time I worked on French) in my wedding so wanting to get it right
