Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
(Please help with my script in French, about a youtube video I have to make)
First off you need accents, they’re non negotiable
Second, you used « tu » in the second paragraph (tu as besoin de) while using « vous » and its conjugations so rectify that
With that out, some sentences to fix:
Bonjour toute le monde
« monde » is masculine.
c’est ma mère le cuisinait
Two things here:
(1) So these are two separate clauses because you can’t have two conjugated verbs here; you have to use a relative pronoun.
(2) Because we’ve already mentioned « ma nourriture » the object pronoun in « le cuisinait » has to agree to it in number and gender.
Je pense que ma mère des crêpes est plus délicieux
Two things:
(1) You wrote the possessive wrong, here you’re describing your crepes’ mother.
(2) « délicieux » has to agree with the noun it modifies in number and gender when after être. Ex: Le melon est beau / La pomme est belle.
je vais partager ma famille recette secrète avec vous tous
Rework your possessive here with « ma famille recette secrète » because that is not how you write, ‘My family’s secret recipe.’
i will do the changes now
would you mind seeing it afterwards again?
Sure
btw I’m guessing that the first paragraph is all you but afterwards it’s machine translated, am I wrong?
i found it on a french recipe website
so i just copied the ingredients
and methods
is it really obvious?
Very much so since there’s a lot of agreement that existed in the second part that didn’t in the first paragraph
what do you mean by agreement?
not to mention that you picked the débutant (beginner) role and the subjunctive appears at the fourth step, « … jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit dorée et bien cuite » which isn’t generally something taught to beginners
yeaa, i mean i still learnt french for like 4 year now, 5th year this year lmao
Agreement means that a part of speech changes according to another part. One of my critiques is that the adjective « délicieux » doesn’t agree with « ma mère des crêpes »; plus you also didn’t make the agreement with « … le cuisinait »
As an example, the excerpt I pointed earlier in regard to the usage of the subjunctive shows agreement: « Faites cuire la crêpe … jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit dorée et bien cuite » where elle refers to la crêpe and the adjectives doré and cuit changes to agree with elle (dorée and cuite respectively)
oh, it kinda make sense now
but i don't really know how to change them lmao
You just refer to the thing the pronoun or adjective refers to and change it accordingly. For example, if I said, ‘I love apples, they are delicious!’, then the pronouns ‘they’ and the adjective ‘delicious’ would refer to apples. Because of that, both agree to apples (les pommes, feminine plural) bringing us to: « J’aime les pommes, elles sont délicieuses »
What if I changed ‘apples’ to ‘melons’? Same thing.
« J’aime les melons, ils sont délicieux »
I can also do that in the singulars:
« J’aime cette pomme, elle est délicieuse »
« J’aime ce melon, il est délicieux »
Also notice how être changes from sont to est to account for the change in subject.
yeaaa i sort of get it
so you kinda mean I change like 1 part but the other part didn't change according to the first part right??
Yup
Bonjour tout le monde,
Aujourd'hui, nous allons cuisiner des crêpes. C'était mon plat préféré quand j'étais petit car ma mère me les cuisinait toujours.
is this any better? i asked bard to do it again for me 😭 my assignment due tmrr lmao
Looks great but since you relied on AI it’s still apparent to me
I mean it’s good enough but I can’t guarantee your teacher won’t null it for cheating or whatever
yea but any tips on how to make it less ai???
like can u list the sentences
i have to change
Rewrite the whole thing yourself
I really can’t help you in this regard since I have no idea what your skills are
can u just like
list the sentences
that sounds ai
It’s not that it sounds AI, it sounds advanced
we just did like imperative, imperfect
this term
like introduction
to it
Right so the subjunctive shouldn’t appear in the fourth step but you have to reword it yourself
alrr
a question
like for pronouns of crepe
is it elle or il?
its elle right?
What is the gender of crêpe and that is your answer
what is when it in french?
Faites cuire la crêpe 2 minutes de chaque côté.
like when it turns golden brown it is finished
after that
Elle est cuite lorsqu'elle est dorée.
does this work?
works
It’s cooked when it’s golden
yeaa thats basically what im trrying to say
Now that you’ve reworded number 4, reword the rest because the subjunctive example was just the most egregious one
What I said before: reword it all yourself
i mean i think the teacher knows most of us will use some ai and translator
Do you want to gamble your grade on it?
no im saying, as long as its not too much
is there any other really advanced phrases?
Looks fine as it is
then any other phrases that is like grammartcally incorrect?
All correct
