Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
this is agrammatical; what you said is the equivalent of "social medias are propagated the information"
but they do the action, they don't undergo it
with the particular examples you've given using passive voice would work, but the meaning is slightly different
Wdym sorry
Isnt les infox fake info? Also im trying to say social media spreads fake info
sur les réseaux sociaux, les infox se propagent
sue les réseaux sociaux, les infox sont propagées
they both would be translated to the same thing in English "on social media, fake news gets shared"
but I don't think you can do that with all pronominal verbs, for instance verbs that are obligatoraly pronominal may not allow this... can't think of any exemples atm tho
some people may claim that it's better stylistically
Wait also like i think im just confusing myself with adjectives in present tense and actual present tense like for example nous sommes unis vs nous unissons
ok, but here for instance is a list of verbs that are always pronominal, I don't see any that you can just use in the passive voice, you must use them pronominally: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/essentially-pronominal-verbs/
hmmm sounds like you may be confused about what the passive voice is
Like to say i am going je suis aller
How do u say i am going?
je vais
French doesn't have any continuous tenses
but this is really going far away from your original question
I know but im mixing these things up
well, I suggest you read that article I just posted about passive voice, 'cause that's what your original question was about
Okk
that should help detangle the confusion a bit
Is that also about present tense and like
We are divided
As a posed to we divode
Divide
not quite
read the article, it should help lol
In tbe article it says ‘the teacher is hated’ for example
Is that present ?
Or the passive thing
That im confused by
it's present passive voice
Wait can u pls tell me if this makes sense 😭.
Ohh ok merci! But isn’t se maintenir reflexive so why is it nous maintenons instead of nous nous maintenons?
Oooh okok
maintenons*
