Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Last one is great though check your first pronoun because « souvenir » is pronominal
Ils n'en se souviennent??
The only critique I have is number 4
Remember that « se » is also a pronoun
so check your en placement
You got it right with number 8
This is because « à son message » would be COI not COD
Ils ne s'en souviennent.
oops wrong reply
don’t forget the adverb at the end
the negation ne … plus (no longer)
pas
4 : ||elles les y joint||
otherwise, looks good
aw man I was trying to get them to write it first
ups
At 4 because we have "à" in the front we use y??
The pronoun « y » replaces any instance of « à + group »
even tho it doesn t imply the place of an action
Je suis arrivé à le faire (I managed to do it) -> J’y suis arrivé (I managed it)
because à son message answers the question ,,quoi?"
well à quoi
quoi answers « les photos »
Elle joint quoi à quoi ?
Les photos à son message.
and how is à son message (à +place), so that we can use y
Y replaces « à + group »
so everytime we have à + group, y is used?
The only exception is « à + noun » where the noun is an animate noun (people)
We use lui/leur in that case
and this is still good?
Yup
same rule applies to « de + noun »
Did you know Y can replace à + [thing/object/location] (French Adverbial Pronouns)? Get fluent faster with Kwiziq French. Access a personalised study list, thousands of test questions, grammar lessons and reading, writing and listening exercises. Find your fluent French!
Elle joint les photos à son message would translate as She attaches the photos to his... (i don t know how it is translated, letter???)
so /where/ does she attach the photos? to his letter
and it means the place where they are attached
I get it now. Sorry for taking so much time to understand
Thank you very much!
Okayy
Don’t forget to put the preposition ‘to’
Because if you just put ‘where’ then it’s going to be an issue the other way around
So Elle les y joint.
Il vient à Paris = Il y vient
Il vient de Paris = Il en vient
Both describe a ‘where’ but the direction to and from gives you which pronoun to use
yup
Thank you again! Have a nice week.
