Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

  • 3 Pimsleur lessons spread six hours apart whilst awake.
  • 3 language transfer lessons daily, one after each Pimsleur, and then repeated whenever opportunely once the course runs out.
  • 2 episodes of French dubbed shows that I am familiar with a day. A chapter of Duolingo lessons a day.
  • Setting my Xbox to French to start playing FFXIV in 10 days when it comes out, to play the game in French and look for a French guild.

I live in deepest Bavaria and am a native English speaker for reference.

whats pimsleur?

dont go too extreme

if youre a beginner, sorry to say youve gotta put on some very baby stuff for you to digest first

Pimsleur is a mostly audio course that goes into... A2 territory I would wager... with some flashcards thrown it. It's 150 30 minute lessons of gradually deepening dialogues modelled by native French speakers with space repetition reminders of content. I've heard it is both really good for beginners and the worst thing ever, but I feel like most language resources are reviewed in both extremes often.
