Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
@eternal harbor we cannot do your homework for you, but if you try and complete it we can give you feedback and try and help you that way.
Broo its not a homework
So lemme explain
I have a french exam tomorrow and they gave me a rivision sheet everything is solved except that
Draw in the clock faces, as it says below in French, draw the time using clock hands (as you have done for "Il est sept heures"
The 2nd one asks you to connect the dots to what the class/subject they would most like from what they have said
What does vingt mean
For example, "Amick aime Shakesphere", what subject would fit him the best?
thoes are some basic numbers kiddo.
have a guess
and i'll tell you
8
thats huit
20
So if its neuf vingt the small hand is on the 9 and big on the 4
Il est neuf heure vingt
I think 11
Yeah, because in french
XXX_ze
you can kinda guess
onze - 11
douze - 12 (from deux)
etc
big brain innit fam
Il est onze heures trente cinq means 11:35
yeah?
yea
Bet
ok mate, can you finish it all first
What number is midi?
ill tell you which one is wrong
midi is half, you work that one out
but pleases, go through every single one first
and ill mark it
tell you which ones are wrong
but you have to use your own brain after marking
i can give you hints but i cant give you bang on answers
astro, finish it first and i can mark it
9
thats neuf mate
Oh 8
Ohhh
what does that mean
I think evening
Ohh morning
Ohhhhhh
minuit = midnight
Oh alright lemme do it
I think there is a printing mistake
There is no such thing as moins cin
can you take a photo for us
Lemme try
augh screw it
check il est minuit cinq
minuit as we discussed is midnight
yeag
yes
gl
lmk if u need anything else
oui
In actully screwed
whats up
I have to memorize YES memorize all that
BRO IDK FRENCH ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Oh nvm
Just the accents
Ill let yuou figure this out firts
LMFAO 😂
I got scared for a second lmao
Hey i got a question
How is shakespeare related to English
@grave kite
Hey u there
Je ___ en france avec ma famille
Do i put voyage or voyages
what do u thijnmk
I think voyages
Why?
because
Ive been taking if there is tu or je i have to put an s at the end
To be fair, the conjugation for « je » can be messy. « tu » does end with -s but for « je » it depends on the verb ending.
-er verbs: no -s (je parle, je voyage, je constate)
-ir verbs: -s (je finis, je définis, je pars)
-re verbs: -s (je confonds, je défends, j'atteins, je conduis, je lis)
Thought that's a massive simplification and you shouldn't look at just the final letter
Oh ty
@grave kite
np though don't look at just the final letter because irregulars can trip you up there
I want to write smt about my grandpere but idk how to start it
Is grandpere mon or ma or
mon cuz its masculine
mon, since « grand-père » is masculine
ma grandmère tho
Oh
cuz grandMOTHER
So i can write mon pere s’appelle tom. Il a soxiante ans?
ouais
but
accents
père
sounds great though you said « père » which is 'father' whereas earlier you said « grand-père » which is 'grandfather'
just wanted to say that in case you were mistaken
Yeah ur right
also it's soixante
anything below 69 (nice)
also why would we tell you that
idk how old your grandfather is
He is dead and i think he was 90
So i have to make up an easy age
noce
yeah but 80-89 for Belgians are still cursed
I wrote about my mom and dad and my grandma and grandad and brother and sister
I have to write another one
Hmmm
Maybe step sister
Or step brother
Hey guys
I have a question
How do i write cousin in French
Is it possible to write ma cousin s’appele tom. Il a huit ans
Gyys i have a question
What does le dessin mean
cousin (m)/cousine (f)

If you can answer 2, you can answer 4
They probably just forgot to put brackets around (le 23 janvier)
Not this
The above question
Basically guess what Emmanuel asked by Roger’s answers
Bro how am i supposed to guess ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
For example, if Roger said, ‘I like flowers, a lot of them’, it means that liking flowers must’ve been the question
Oh
another example
if Roger said, ‘No, I don’t like swimming often’, what do you think Emmanuel asked?
Do u like swimming
remember to put often
Ohhh
in a lot of cases it’s just changing the subject
Yes but it’s not always word for word
Oh
For example for the non je fais rarement du velo
I will right tu fais rarement du velo?
For example, if Roger said, ‘I like swimming a lot and sometimes I go for a run’ the overarching question here is sports so the appropriate question is closer to, ‘What sports do you like to do?’
Notice that non, it’s disagreeing
That means the question is the opposite of the answer
Brooo this is so hard ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
‘Do you rarely ride your bike?’
‘No, I rarely ride my bike.’
Makes no sense does it?
No
This is standard in every language learning course
Exactly so look at the response as well
Since it’s disagreeing, it’s more likely he asked, « Tu fais souvent du vélo ? »
Since souvent (often) is the opponent of rarement (rarely)
Read.
Oh ok
Hey
For the last one it transalte because its boring right
For example what question can i write for it
It’s related to the third one
if I go
Me: Do you swim often?
You: No, I swim rarely.
Me: …
You: Because I’m not good at it.
What did I ask you?
Hint: ||What question when asked gives the answer ‘Because’?||
Do u swim often
The third
Bro im so confused
I’m too tired for this, what question gives you because? WHY.
Why didn’t you come to school? BECAUSE I was sick.
Why am I tired? BECAUSE I didn’t sleep enough.
Great so now you know the answer
In part yes
Hmm
The real reason is because the response started with « parce que »
Ohhh
It’s just that it’s connected to the third question because it doesn’t specify what exactly is boring Roger meaning that it’s been already noted previously
Parce que = Because btw
In case you don’t know
n-no
that’s not the answer to the blank
Is there no example of this dialogue anywhere in your book?
Bro please
Me: Do you swim often?
You: No, I swim rarely.
Me: [Why do you swim rarely?]
You: Because I’m not good at it.
Have fun translating
