Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

The point of this thread is to try and confirm translations and relevancy of phrases for playing some basic card games to practice speaking french and increase fluency in numbers, symbols, and first and second person.

Yes, very much, but that is also why I was suspicious before putting to much effort into learning anything since playing cards/games are something that is culture specific and has some unexpected use of words.

One thing I have noticed about myself is that when I see a number or a symbol (road signs, dates, clocks, thermometers, math problems) my mind shifts back to english even if I am trying to think and process in french. So trying to think of ways to be able to deal with that without shifting back and forth.

But the only people I really have to practice with are my kids, so try to do stuff like this to rewire my brain.
