Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
This looks okay though the English translations are a bit off. In future, you could just consult a conjugation table, you know?
Oh yeah that was probably a smarter thing to do
The link I just referred to, WordReference, is a bilingual dictionary so you can look up meanings, translations, and for verbs you can look for their conjugations as well
Excellent resource, make sure you bookmark and keep them
The subjunctive translations are off because the subjunctive expresses something that doesn't really exist to a large extent in English, and the simple past/passé simple isn't used anymore (nous visitâmes) and instead we use the compound past/passé composé (nous avons visité)
Oh and the imperfect subjunctive is also not used anymore outside of literary contexts, same as the simple past. You can start here and then read from there
