yeah, for example, "grand" is (often) tall, which you'd think of as "size"
but:
un grand homme - a great man
un homme grand - a tall man

but "i learned x in my class" is the subject matter you're learning

Ah gotcha, Also that grand example was helpful too, just the other day I saw someone use it for "great" man and was very confused

there are quite a few adjectives that change meaning depending on their placement

also, dans l'école = inside of the school (inside the building, only)
à l'école = at school
