Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
- There used to be but not anymore
- There’s no
- ❓Where did you find that one
i think the last ones wrong, i got confused
thanks
wait but als
also
how do you know when to use 1 and when to use 2?
Use first when you want to emphasize that there was at some point
Or if there was at some point
Use 2 if there never was (sometimes it is used even if there was at some point so that’s overcomplicating stuff)
Examples:
what does encore mean? some of the questions had it. is it related?
Since 'plus' is 'more' and 'ne' negates it:
There is not any__more__/there is no longer.
Il n’y a plus d’argent dans ma tirelire (there’s no money left in my piggybank, it was all used)
Il n’y a pas d’argent dans ma tirelire (my piggybank is empty, I’m just saying that you won’t find money in it)
Not great examples ngl
First one emphasizes that there used to be
Second one just describes the actual state of it
Encore means again
ohh
i see
