Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
In essence, "est-ce" means "is it" and "qu'est-ce" mean "what is it"
However, they are very rarely used with that literal sense: instead they are almost always found as part of "est-ce que" and "qu'est-ce que/qui" respectively
