Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
you can't say "entre famille" because it's singular
only when it's plural (amis/collègues/cousins/...)
oh EN famille?
but i'm struggling to explain the difference between entre amis and avec mes amis. Avec mes amis feels more specific, wheras entre amis is just "with friends"
wdym by specific?
if i just answer a question like "what do you like to do" and i say "i like to spend time with my family and friends" then do you tihnk it should be specific?
so what would you use in that case?
j'aime passer du temps en famille et entre amis?
j'aime passer du temps en famille et amis?
does that word too?
work*
either work
i'd use "avec mes amis" or "avec ma famille" because it sounds more natural than "entre amis"
ohokk
but it's purely a social construct
no !!
"en" when singular
"entre" when plural
you have to specify before each one
ok i see
maybe you can say it once if you list things that are plural or singular (en singular + singular, for example)
but you never say it like that, usually it's only one thin
g
can you give a example pls?
pas de soucis !!!!
