Plus Pronunciation
Seeing as it means 'more than 100 km' here, it would be pronounced.
You don't pronounce the 's' when 'plus' is used in a negative sentence:
Il ne fume plus.
He no longer smokes.
In your sentence, « plus » acts as a comparative adverb, and as such, it is pronounced /ply/ with a silent S.
However, if there was a vowel after it, « plus » would be pronounced /ply__z__/ to account for the liaison of the final S, just like in…
- Il est plu__s__ __a__imable que toi. [il ɛ plyz**‿**ɛmablə kə twa]
Also, if « plus » is at the end of the sentence, then the final S is pronounced.
- On doit sortir plu__s__. [õ dwa soɾtiɾ ply__s__]

Here, it’s a comparative adverb, not a negative one.
I agree, so why does the 's' lose its pronunciation? 🤔
It's not followed by an adjective starting with a consonant.
Because… it’s French…? 😅
And French likes to be particular about the way words are pronounced
Even though it doesn’t make any sense half of the time 💀
My point is, LawlessFrench is the only place I can find that says not to pronounce the 's' here. Unless I'm just stupid, which is entirely possible. 👀
I used this website to double-check the pronunciation and it says to pronounce it as [ply] with a silent S.

So… it’s definitely the latter.
i’m kidding, you’re smart (hopefully)
I hope so too.
I would not pronounce the s in this type of "plus de" structure
« plus que » (as in "more than") = pronounced
« plus que » (as in "only X left") = not pronounced
« plus de » = not pronounced
For examples cause it might not be super clear without context:
« J'ai contribué plus que toi » I contributed more than you = pronounced
« Il n'y a plus que 3 jours d'école » There's only 3 days of school left = not pronounced
« Il y a plus de 3 jours d'école restants » There are more than 3 days of school left = not pronounced
That's easy to remember, thanks. :D
What confused me is finding a French speaker say that 'plus' is pronounced in 'J'ai plus d'animaux' (I have more animals).
It finally clicked. I can now leave this question in peace. :]
