Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Si is really two unrelated words that ended up looking and sounding the same:
-one is from Latin "sic" an means "so" as an intensifier before an adjective or adverb: for instance "C'est si beau" = "it's so beautiful"
-the other is from Latin si, and means if
and if it comes after a negative question it can mean yes even in french?
"tu n'aimes pas les gâteaux?"
"si je l'aime beaucoup""
are those the only two meanings that it has?
in french at least
It can also mean yes when contradicting a negative statement, you're right. That's related to the first meaning.
